Greek Sausages - Easy

Ingredients:
12 oz. ground pork
4 oz. ground beef
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. dried savory
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/3c. dry red wine
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil (EVOO for you Rachel Ray fans)
grated rind of 1 small orange (make sure that you do not grate into the white part of the rind because it is extremely bitter)

-Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least 24 hours (this is very important because it allows all of the flavors to blend).
-Preheat oven to 350.
-Form meat into sausages.
-Cook on broiler for 15 minutes (turning to cook all sides).

*These go great with pita, tzatziki, cucumbers and feta.

Opa!

HI, BRANDIE,
I HAVE MADE SAUSAGE A FEW TIMES NOW, BUT ONLY SAGE SAUSAGE. THIS SOUNDS INTERESTING. ESPECIALLY WITH THE TZATZIKI. YUMMY

I HAVE NEVER USED SAVORY. WHAT IS IT LIKE?

Well,...it's hard to explain. This sounds kind of weird, but it almost adds a richness to the flavor. You may not notice that it is there, but you'll notice when it isn't. One of the key ingredients is definitely the orange. I was cautious at first, but it excellent. I hope you enjoy!!
