Review: Castle Wood deli meats and cheeses

Brandie and I found the Turkey Pastrami at Sam’s Club, and I decided to try it to save some money on my lunch “bill”. I went into it expecting something halfway decent, but it ended up being so much more. It’s some of the best pastrami that I’ve ever eaten. We’ve also tried the Provolone and Colby Jack cheeses, and they are great too; almost too great, in fact. I kept using the provolone to make pizzas, and I’ve been using the Colby jack to make quesadillas. I’ve been going through these “wholesale-club” sized cheese packages a little too quickly for Brandie’s liking. They have a wide range of meats and cheeses including Roast Beef, Ham and Turkey of various types, Swiss, Pepper Jack and Cheddar cheeses.

Before I was introduced to the turkey pastrami - I would make a 'balovalone' which was provolone and bologna - ah my humor, it is wonderful.

This product is terrible. Packages can't be opened without cutting into he meats. It spoiled within one week. Will never buy again!

I buy this lunchmeat weekly and never have any trouble opening the package. It spoiled once when I left it for a couple weeks. Sometimes, the workers miss the sell by date and leave old product on the shelf. You need to look at the dates on everything you buy.

New packaging is terrible, lid does not snap on tight, and meat dries out

Best turkey I ever had.

Best turkey ever and also the corned beef. Wondering if it can be frozen just to be sure we never run out!

Great lunch meat. Yes the inside package is sealed tight and I need to cut it open. So? Any deli meat from any where should be used within a few days after opening or cutting at the counter. Also if I am not planning on using it all right away I seal in a zip lock type bag. If it lasts longer I wonder what kind of chemical preservatives they have added. Yes it can be frozen. It will lose only a small amount of taste and perhaps texture but not much.

Love the product but hate the packaging, Just dumped a new package(less a sandwich) on the floor when the top popped off and the package hit the floor. Somebody needs to address the packaging of this product to seal better and make it safe to carry to the cooler!

My daughter purchased their roast beef. It is delicious, and I would highly recommend it.
